The DS Fire card is a very simple solution to use, no memory cards to lose and no file patching needed.

Insert the Slot1 Card in to the back of the DS / Lite which will reside in there permanently (this contains the memory)
On the full sized DS (not lite) the GBA>>>USB card which goes in the front can remain in the unit at all time or can simply be removed when a PC connection is not needed.
On the DS LITE the card will protrude from the front and therefore should only be inserted when the PC connection is required ie for copying files on to the console then removed after.

We have tried this on Both the DS and the DS Lite and are very pleased with the results, it is probably if not the easiest card system available and even more suited to children as there are no TransFlash (Micro Sd Cards) to lose.
